Gifts and Showers ...

Hey friends.

Many of you have been asking me if I've had a shower or where you can send gifts.  I've had a few showers already, but haven't had one in the Denver area.  The plan is to have a shower in the beginning of June when my parents are here visiting.  Also, since we don't know the gender of the baby yet, we can't receive cute gender related gifts.  Once the baby is born feel free mail presents or wait until the shower in June.  Plus, I thought it would be really fun to have the baby at the shower.  As for newborn stuff, we are set with a ton of onesies, blankets, bottles, and other immediate need items.  We are super low maintenance since we live in a one bedroom apartment and the baby will be sharing our room for the first 6months.  I'm even just using a Pack N Play for a bed until we get a second room for the crib.  Yes, I am a little nervous that we will loose our minds with the sleep situation, but we know that our lease is up in October so we should be okay.

Oh, and I absolutely love handmade or second hand gifts.  Most of what we already have been given is just that!  If you don't feel up for making anything or creative imagination is lacking, we will update our registry at Target and Babies R Us, after the baby is born or in the next couple weeks.

We just used a pack-n-play most of the time too.

And lucky for your baby, they make them much nicer than they did 8 years ago when we got ours (strange that baby stuff can change and improve in that short of time. It's not like my son was born in the dark ages or anything!)

Kim-we get SO much sleep right now and Emery is in our room. I think we've always gotten lots more sleep than usual because we share a room w the baby...the last 2 nights I got 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep! Anyway, I hope it turns out well for you guys also! Love you all and can't wait for baby Myers! (thanks for the shout out also!)

yeah, we didn't make it sharing a room with Jesse but with both our girls we did it for several months and it actually turned out fine-- you get used to it I guess. With our first child we were on edge over every little noise he made and didn't sleep much til we moved him out, but then I guess we figured out with the girls-- what to ignore and what to respond to. Many folks do it and it works out fine. The biggest stressor is usually having baby gear quickly "take over" a small living space, lol!
