Charlie's Numbers!!!

It's another exciting afternoon at the Myers house!  Charlie knows how to write and say his numbers (with help), 1-10. Having no prior experience trying to motivate a preschooler to learn, I was feeling pretty discouraged.  Throughout the last few weeks, I found out that Charlie will do almost anything and do almost anything FAST, if promised a T.V. show...  This may not be the "best option," but in my mind this is a huge step forward for us.  Day one, I asked him to work on his numbers with me before T.V. and he had a huge tantrum that lasted a full hour which ended in further discipline.  After thinking about it for 30 mins or so, he sat down and did all his number in 2mins or less and earned a T.V. show.  Every day this week, I have extended the "school time" a few more minutes, with a few more things to accomplish.  With little complaining and good cooperation, Charlie has learned to copy my numbers and say the correct ones.   This is a huge step forward, in comparison, he used to give up and run away.  Preschoolers can be difficult creatures to understand, but Lord willing, we are making headway!
